If you notice, everyone smiles differently. There are many different kinds of smile.
Like smiles that have to do with teeth: There's the "I'll show no teeth smile", then there is the "bare my teeth smile". Then smiles that has to do with emotions and features:
1) "I'm laughing and smiling at the same time because I feel damm happy"
2) "I'm smiling just for the picture"
3) "I'm smiling just to act cute"
4) "I'm smiling but I don't really feel like a smile mood"
And then those that are for pictorial purposes:
Some people "smile this way because I cannot smile other way", and others "smile this way because it's the prettiest"
And lastly:
are pressed lips which idiotic people take as smiles. For haven's sake, it's not even a curve and you take it as a smile!
I for one, have a not so very pretty smile, because when I smile, I sometimes bare my gum. But most of the time, I have the "bare my teeth smile" and the "I'm laughing and smiling at the same time because I feel damm happy" smile.
As I reviewed my photos, to have clear concrete evidence that this article(or whatever it is) is factual, I came to know, I use to be an idiot.
So yeah, laugh and say all sorts of stuff, because I was young then. And young people have the alibi to be dumb; in the sense, that I press my lips together and purse it, instead of a proper smile. But I also came to notice, I must be a pretty good idiot, because the pursed lips still curves and it actually shows how happy I am, despite the pathetic excuse of a smile.
While I'm on this topic, I happen to see X's photos (which is actually what inspires me to write this). And the first thing that came to my mind, was "Oh goodness, help save this girl!"
Why so, you ask? Well, just look at what kind of smile(I'm not even sure it still is) she has for not one, but all her photos! Her photos all show her doing the same lip pressing thing, and the thing is her eyes don't show that she is smiling! So what is she doing, taking pictures and acting like she is? Oh well, maybe she isn't smiling for the picture anyway.
Talk about eyes, a genuine smile reaches up to the eyes, so it's pretty easy to tell what the hell you're doing or feeling, just by looking at the pictures (: No wonder they say eyes are windows to the soul; or something like that. Even artist and celebs all around, when you look at the pictures, it's easy to tell whether they are really genuinely smiling or just for the camera.
I tried doing what X did, but I just can't reach whatever she achieved, because as hard as I pressed my lips, it still curves and I still see a smile, because my cheeks are lifted. So, I must say, she must have talent for whatever she is doing.
But, oh goodness, I really hope X grows up soon, and notice what the hell she is doing. Because when I look at my pathetic excuses, I feel like such a fool, I wish someone had told me what I was doing before.
Well, I'm glad that I grew out of that, and even though my smile must be pretty weird, it's a smile and it really reaches to my very soul.
